Daddy's Little (devil) Helper

We had awesome weather for trick or treating. We did not have to bundle up like usual.

The weather has been in the 70's, snow days a distant memory:0

Chelse and Jake participated in their 3rd Fall Series running event. 1 more left for Chelsea to earn a trophy for her participation, her goal not ours.

Halloween

Here are our spooky costumes!

Trick of Treat!!!

Happy Halloween everyone! We survived 2 snow days leading up to the school Halloween Parties, whew. I don't know what Chelsea would have done if she didn't have school on the day the parties were scheduled.

I chronicled our snow days activities for everyone. One the second snow day I took the kiddos to the library and McDonald's play land, could not keep up with the messes in the house;)

Luckily Daddy came home in time to help Chelsea and Jake burn off some energy.

It's that time again!

I have failed in my duties as 'keeper of the blog'. I am sorry.
I am here to report the return of more timely posts.

Where to begin?????

School started in August, Chelsea is in all-day kindergarten and Jake comes to the daycare in my building (I'm SOOOO lucky).

Chelsea played her 2nd season of soccer. Her skill level has improved greatly. She scored 4 goals in each of the last couple of games.

Jake started walking at 13 months, now he climbs on EVERYTHING.

So far we have escaped the flu, regular and swine.

The basement is VERY near completion, start arranging your travel plans!

I completed the Denver Marathon in a time of 3:30, not what I was hoping for but I was able to persevere through some tough patches.

Chelsea is enjoying running in the local kids trail series, her goal is to get a trophy of her own for completing in all 4 races.

80 degrees on Sunday, cold and snowy on Wednesday.

We will be traveling to Indy the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving, Sat-Tuesday.

Jake still only says Dada. He LOVES dogs.

I am leading a 'Teachers teaching Teachers' class on technology tools to use in the classroom.

Tis the Season!

We attended a friends Ironman Party to view the airing of this year's show. I even baked! I made a hula girl cake AND a pineapple upside down cake...watch out Martha Stewart.

The Webbers decided this little "Charlie Brown Tree" needed some decoration!

Happy Holidays to everyone. Our weather has finally gotten in the holiday spirit. The temps vary for the teens to the 50's. We have had 1 snow day thus far. It is the mountains that have been getting dumped with feet of snow. Look at the photos for an example. We attended the Festival of Lights parade this year since the weather was so nice.

Chelsea is really excited about Christmas, already planning for his entry down the chimney-she informed us that we would have to remove the fireplace screen for Santa. She has agreed to be the liaison between Jake and Santa...letting Santa know what Jake wants for Christmas:)

Jake is NO LONGER sleeping through the night. We thought he was going through some teething and then he was congested and now he just likes to hang out with mommy every couple of hours and chat. He will be 6 months old at Christmas! My how time flies.

A week's vacation!

I get to spend a week with my mommy and big sister, YEAH!!!! Little do they know I have a tooth that is trying to get out, I'll save that fun the end of the week :)

My school district gives us a week off for Thanksgiving. What great weather we had for the week, in the 50's and low 60's.

Jim has started finishing the basement, he says it will take 6 months-then LOTS of room for visitors! Check out his handy work.

I took the kiddos to the park down the street. It was Jake's first time in a BIG swing. Chelsea is really great with him.

We spent Thanksgiving with the Dessart family, I think we have had Thanksgiving dinner with them for the past 7 years.

I think I can hang in there for 3 more weeks-Christmas Break-YEAH!!!

We got a lotta catchin' up to do!

So sorry I have not been keeping up with the latest and the greatest. Lets see, I have included photos from Halloween, Chelsea was Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, Jake was an elephant. We had a party and invited the neighbors with little ones. Chelsea was really excited about trick or treating this year, luckily the weather was great! (Usually it's very cold, windy and often times raining)
Next up, I have been competing in some trail races in the parks around town, I am slowly getting my form back :)

Jim did some SERIOUS camping and mountain climbing this past weekend. He and some buddies drove down to Alamosa and camped at 12,000ft, after a 3 hour hike. They set up camp and then continued on to the top of Mt. Blanca which is at 14,000ft. WHEW!!!!
On a sad note, our good buddy Greta passed away. Jim and I got Greta just a couple of months after getting married, she lived 13 years-all action-packed. We will all miss her :(

Enjoy the photos.
